  Day we meet each other

  A special day for us!

  This is actually a story we don’t really tell very often in full, usually we just say we were set up by a mutual friend and that we went to Taco Bell for our first date. The full story is a bit more complex but we’ll try to sum it up. We were set up by our friend Tyler and began talking over snapchat and text messages. At the time, Greg was in his sophomore year at York College in Pennsylvania, and Allison was living and finishing up her aesthetics program in Maryland. We had originally planned to have our first date in Annapolis MD, partly because there was more to do there, and partly because Allison’s parents weren’t keen on her driving out of state to meet a boy for the first time. Unfortunately, something came up on Greg’s end school-wise, and he wasn’t going to be able to drive down that weekend for the date. We were bummed about the change in plans, but still determined to meet, so with the help of her best friend Noelle, Allison pulled together a last minute plan. It just so happened that Noelle was having her Halloween party that weekend at her parents house near Hershey PA, an easy 45 minute drive from York College. Allison discussed her plans for the weekend with her parents; Going to Noelle’s Friday to Sunday, and going on a date with Greg Sunday afternoon before driving back home. She got the approval to go, but what she didn’t mention was that she actually planned to leave the party Saturday night to drive to York, meet Greg and stay with him through Sunday afternoon. For the most part, everything went off without issue, except for when Allison accidentally told her dad when she left the party and was headed to York. A very heated 45 minute phone call ensued, but overall things did get resolved, kinda. By the time Allison made it to the college, she was flustered and anxious, and Greg was nervous, so we did what most college-aged kids do and decided to get food. When Greg learned that Allison had never eaten Taco Bell before, he couldn’t believe it. He immediately grabbed his keys and we drove to the nearest Taco Bell so he could buy us cinnabon delights. He also curbed his wheels in the drive-through, and doesn’t shut up about it to this day.

  Our First Trip

  Technically our first trip together was around Christmas in 2017. Greg’s school let out for winter break and he was driving back home for Christmas. Allison had never been up north, and Greg always talked about how much he loved it back home and how beautiful it was, so we made arrangements to drive up together. In May 2023, we made our first big trip together when we flew out to San Diego to visit, and so Allison could show Greg all around where she grew up.

  Our Engagement Story

  During our trip to San Diego, Greg surprised Allison on the first day by taking her to Sunset Cliffs Natural Park and proposing. Our good friend Josh was there to photograph the moment for us. We then all went out and celebrated with tacos and margaritas in Old Town!
